Sad yet necessary disclosures: more states cite priests' abuses

It's like a drum beat that never grows silent. Its constant reverberation serves as a sad reminder of cumulative horrific wrongs committed, yet also as a hopeful harbinger that truth continues to emerge unchecked.

The central subject matter of our blog posts at White Law is the tragically recurrent behavior of criminals who sexually abuse children. Our established Michigan law firm's blog entries especially spotlight individuals who seek to hide behind the authority conferred on them as religious clerics. Our deep legal team provides proven and diligent legal representation to survivors and their families seeking justice against such perpetrators.

A steady stream of media accounts both nationally and from across the globe underscore that there is no dearth of church officials who abuse young and vulnerable children. Heart-rending stories involving such conduct emerge with numbing frequency these days.

Two more were reported just last week. They both chronicle evidence cited by law enforcers that reveals sustained criminal conduct on a large scale.

One of those reports spotlights heinous crimes committed by a number of priests in Kansas. The names of 15 ex-clerics from the Catholic Diocese of Wichita were published by church officials, with authorities noting that all those individuals stand "credibly accused of child sexual abuse." Relevant information regarding those persons is being provided to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

Missouri authorities also acted last week, referring a dozen former clergy members for possible prosecution. That state's attorney general conceded that, while current investigations can't erase past wrongdoing, "they can change the trajectory of the future."
