Survivors Have The Power To Hold Abusers Accountable. Our Attorneys Can Help Make Your Voice Heard.

Sexual abuse survivors and conspiracy claims

The number of states lifting the statute of limitations concerning sexual abuse children has risen. This year alone, five states plus the District of Columbia have lifted their statute of limitations regarding such abuse.

One particular issue involving such matters is that the survivor may not even be aware that the perpetrator did anything wrong until much later. Also, adults often silence children when possible abuse happens.

For this reason, in 2018 the Michigan Attorney General's office began investigating possible cases of sexual abuse dating back as far as the 1950s. Such actions came about because survivors continue to suffer, and the repercussions of sexual abuse never go away.

A conspiracy to coverup known abuse in the Catholic Church

A recent Wall Street Journal article discusses in-depth efforts by various Catholic dioceses to shield priests from allegations of sexual abuse. What seems to be a theme in such cases is that particular priests are guilty of abusing multiple survivors.

Church officials may have known of such abuse for years or even decades while never coming forward with such information. Such coverups are leading to the filing of lawsuits directly against the church.

A possible reason for such coverup is to delay prosecution of such matters until it is too late to bring a claim. For this reason, more survivors are alleging a conspiracy coverup to provide an alternative means for bringing claims.

The list of survivors of such abuse grows. Every additional claim provides credibility to claims of a coverup. But these cases are challenging. The Catholic Church has almost unlimited wealth and the ability to hire extremely seasoned defense attorneys. Because of this, survivors need to locate legal counsel who has the resources and abilities to take such a powerful organization on.
